With Autumn now upon us, just a quick reminder of what a glorious time it is to be taking a short break in the Highlands - the colours of both the forests and mountains are wonderful, the crowds have gone and the weather can often be dryer than in summer!
The leaves on the trees appear to be turning earlier this year, so best photo opportunities of the landscapes are likely to be around mid-October rather than later. Most local visitor attractions that have seasonal opening remain open until end-of October at least.
