Photography Courses with Colin Prior

Colin Prior's name is synomous with Scottish & Global wild landscapes - his breathtaking photographic images, captured throughout the seasons, promote the raw beauty of the Highlands and have established him as the country's leading landscape photographer.

Now photographers looking to improve their skills, can benefit first-hand from this knowledge by booking onto one of his photography school courses.Blogstac

I recently spend 5 days with 6 other enthusiasts in the North-west Highlands doing just this. Each day we toured the wild & ancient landscape of Assynt & Sutherland, catching the very best of the Autumn colours under Colin's expert eye, & visiting the best viewpoints Suitable for all levels of experience, the course's practical activities are complimented by daily tutorials from him on how to take the perfect image.

Whatever your degree of photography expertise, you'll come away feeling that your hobby skills have been 're-born' to an extent. Whilst advice on the technical aspects is always available, you'll learn as much about the 'art' side, such as image composition and the effect of light on the landscape.

Visit Colin Prior's Photography School Website for details on his 2008 courses throughout the Highlands. Tariffs include high-quality guest-house accommodation & full-board meals. Combined with the level of tuition provided, it's excellent value-for-money.

Landscapes by Cubby Images

  • Glencoe from Loch Leven
Dave Cuthbertson (Cubby) is one of Scotland's foremost climbers, with many cutting-edge, first ascents to his credit. He was instrumental in providing Scottish climbing with something of a new face-lift in the 70's and 80's (and into the 90's)and has played a significant part in the development of modern rock and ice climbing in Glen Coe; a passion that continues to this day. Cubby makes a living as an International Mountain guide, which he combines with photography and occasionally providing safety and technical consultancy to the TV and film industry. His most recent assignment was something of a starring role in which Cubby acted as Joe Simpson's climbing double in 'Touching the Void.' and performed stunts for one of the most famous falls in climbing history. You can also view a selection of Cubby's landscape photography on the wall in our Four Seasons Pub, as well as from his website at www.cubbyimages.co.uk.
