July is Highland Games time in the local area, with the Glengarry, Morven, Mallaig, Glenfinnan, Arisaig & Lochaber Games all taking place. The games generally last for the whole day, and are a novel way of experiencing Scottish & Celtic culture & heritage.
After a break of several years, the legendary Glen Nevis River Race returns next Saturday - competitors make their way down a 2 mile course of the lower Nevis on inflatables,(!) with all funds raised going towards Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team. Worth popping along to see even if you're not competing.

Pop along to our Four Seasons Pub from 8pm to hear this talented trio, where they'll be performing an informal acoustic session. Islay's piping prodigy Fraser Shaw (of the 'The Maverick Angel's) joins forces with the unique accordion style of Loch Ness-side's John Somerville ('Box Club' and formerly of 'Croft Number Five'). The pair are accompanied by the jazzy piano and Scots singing talents of Grantown-on-Spey's Hamish Napier (formerly of 'Back of the Moon'). The three Highlanders have played many of the largest music festivals throughout the world. Original and traditional energetic jigs and reels intertwine with songs and melodies from across the globe, to create a night that is sure to get the feet tapping!
